Bufoni began skating at the age of nine, and kept up well with the traditionally male-dominated sport. Frustrated that she was the only female skater amongst a group of neighborhood boys, her father broke her skateboard, telling her that she wasn't allowed to continue with the activity. After switching out the deck later that day and continuing on, her father realized her passion and a year later, took her to her first competition. At 14 she came to the United States to compete in the X-Games, in which she came in last place. However, she took first in the Maloof Money Cup a couple of years later, and continues to rack up skateboarding-related accolades. She remains active in other ways too, like visiting the gym, going skydiving, and riding motorcycles. She's had her fair share of injuries, including a broken nose and foot, a torn ankle ligament, and a countless number of bruises and scrapes. But one thing is for sure, nothing stops her drive to skate.
